my philosophy of care

well-being as a practice

I view healing as a non-linear process of tending* to ourselves—learning to listen, noticing change, and working with what is present in each moment. It isn’t about perfection; it’s about cultivating resilience, connection, and a sense of belonging in your own body.

client-centered care

I see this work as a collaboration—working together to create care plans that meet individual needs, capacity, resources, and lived experiences.  My approach is trauma-mindful, rooted in embodiment, deep listening, and harm reduction principles**.

responsibility to land and lineage

My perspective is shaped by my lived experience as a cis white person of European ancestry living and practicing on the unceded land of the Ramaytush Ohlone people (known as San Francisco). I come to this work humbly, with much to learn. I hold deep respect for the Indigenous stewards of the land where I live and work, and for the knowledge keepers of the traditions I’ve learned from.

accessibility & inclusivity
I welcome all bodies and experiences, and aim to offer care and medicine that is accessible through both in-person and virtual sliding-scale sessions, and regular free offerings.

*These words in practice:

  • trauma-mindful: recognizing the impact of trauma—personal, collective, and systemic—and emphasizing safety, choice, context, and connection

  • deep listening: active listening and listening generously, attuned to what is said and unsaid

  • embodiment: connecting feelings and experiences with the body’s needs and sensations—remembering that our bodies hold every part of who we are

  • harm reduction: practicing non-judgement, meeting people where they are, and collaborating to meet their goals

“as you heal yourself with natural medicine in the form of food and herbs, an additional gift is that the plants begin to reawaken your senses, and with that, your trust in your own perception grows.

it is both empowering and liberating to trust your own senses
(no doubt that’s why it’s so frowned upon)”
